Senior Pastor - Jim Welch

Rev. Jim Welch comes to KUMC after serving a term as superintendant of the Central South District of the Texas Annual Conference. Rev. Welch holds a Master of Theology Degree from Perkins at Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston.
He is a Board Member of the Volunteers of America organization, as well as the Methodist Children’s Home. He was elected as a Clergy Delegate to General Conference in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Jim also serves on numerous boards, agencies and committees of the United Methodist Church.
Jim is married to Debbie and they currently reside in Kingwood. They have two children, Sarah and Matthew; and grandchildren Madeline and Jacob.
Jim and Debbie have faithfully served the following congregations First UMC, Longview, Grace UMC, Baytown, First UMC, Bay City, St. Paul’s UMC, Houston, Christ UMC, Houston, Needville UMC and a student appointment to Edom Sexton Chapel.

Rev. Judy Tefteller - Associate Pastor

|
Judy’s ministry focuses on our adult and single’s ministries, missions, and the big events at the church. She has a B.S. in Education from University of Houston and is certified in Christian Education. She did diaconal studies at SMU and United Theological Seminary. Judy was consecrated a Diaconal Minister in 1990 and became an ordained Deacon in full connection in 1997. Judy and her husband Steve have three children: Ross, Lindsay and Austin. Give Rev. Rev. Patrick Evans - Associate Pastor

|
Patrick, a member of the Woodlands United Methodist Church when he experienced a call to enter the Methodist ministry, joins us fresh out of Asbury Seminary in Kentucky. He is involved in the general ministry of our church with a special focus on men's ministries, prison outreach, scouting, and teaching ministries and brings to KUMC a special talent for integrating technology into our worship experiences. Patrick demonstrates his expository teaching skills during our Sunday evening worship services. Patrick and his wife, Deb, have a one son at home, Alex. Rev. Matt Stone-Associate Pastor

|
Matt is our newest Associate Pastor. Moving to Kingwood is a return home for Matt, as he grew up in Beaumont before attending the University of Texas. After graduating with a BA in Psychology and Religious Studies, he attended Perkins School of Theology where he received a Master of Divinity. Matt's ministry areas will focus on Young Adults and Evangelism. In addition to these areas, Matt is now the pastor of our 11:00 contemporary service, Impact!
