Music Ministry
The Music Ministry at Kingwood UMC is a community of faith organized to aid in the proclamation of the Gospel through the art of music. Our programming is designed for individuals from pre-school through adults. Groups gather weekly to learn more about music and scripture and to share their Christian witness through their talents.
Throughout the year, the Music Ministry offers opportunities for participation as soloists, in ensembles, musicals, dramatic presentations, music education and voice classes, and other special programs. Brass, woodwind, and string ensembles and instrumental soloists also perform during special seasons of the church year such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.

We encourage all members of the congregation to share their musical talents. Also needed are adult helpers in the areas of accompanists, snack coordinator, carpooling and choir parents. Chancel Choir The Adult Chancel Choir provides musical leadership for the 9:40 and 11:00 Sunday worship services from mid-August through June. Each year they also present two major choral performances during the festival seasons. Childcare is provided during weekly rehearsals.

IMPACT Praise Team The Impact Worship team consists of instrumentalists, singers, and audio/visual technicians. Each member uses their talents and their desire to further their relationship with Jesus so that others may be brought into the shining light of God's love and grace. Members of the IMPACT team are committed to serving God in this ministry and do so with joy and celebration. Sonrise Choir The Sonrise Choir provides fresh, new music for the 8:30 Sunday morning worship service in the sanctuary. Rehearsals are scheduled for 8:00 am on Sunday mornings. Please contact Micki Balog to be a part of this important part of our 8:30 worship services.

Men's Ensemble The Men's Ensemble rehearses Thursdays at 7:00 pm off campus. This bunch of guys sings at worship services and other church and community events throughout the year.

Handbell Choirs The Handbell Choirs at KUMC play an important part in the overall music program. Choirs are organized by handbell experience. The choirs perform during selected worship services and at special seasonal services. Currently there are two handbell choirs for adults. The first group is known as the Praise Ringers and they practice on Wednesdays at 5:00pm in G124. Our second group is the King's Ringers and they rehearse at 7:30 pm on Tuesdays in G124.

Women's Ensemble The Women's Ensemble rehearses at 7:15 pm on Thursday evenings during the school year. This group, under the direction of Donna Baxter, sings at Sunday morning worship services and other church events throughout the year.
