Spiritual Gifts Study

A small group study of Spiritual Gifts is beginning soon. Participants will complete an inventory, look to scripture and work through some exercises to discover their gifts. As a group we will look to scripture to see who gives us gifts and how and why they are to be used. Cost for the study is $10. We will meet on Wednesdays or Sundays - depending on responses from those interested in the class. This is an 8-week class and childcare will be available with a reservation. Please contact Melinda Dodd in the church office if you are interested in this class.

Young Dad's Bible Study

Whether you’ve been a dad for a while, or you’re a rookie, Young Dad’s Bible Study will offer you time away from the chaos so that you can focus on being the man God is calling you to be. We’ll meet on Monday night’s at 7:30 (starting January 16).

"Fatherhood isn’t exactly what I expected, and I suspect I’m not alone in that. When our responsibilities at work and as husbands are added to our calling to be faithful fathers, it begins sounding like a game plan for chaos. If not chaos, it at least presents the temptation to allow life to lead you, rather than you leading a life of intentional and faithful discipleship. One of the best ways to combat this temptation is to spend a few sacred minutes on your own spiritual life each week with other guys in the same place," explains Rev. Matt Stone.

Contact Rev. Matt Stone in the church office for more information about this Bible Study.

Young Mom's Study

Meets on Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall in the Koinonia Building for breakfast snacks at 9:00 a.m. and class from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. We have excellent nursery staff that provides childcare with a reservation.

We will meet you where you are in your faith and study time. Although we encourage you to try to work in the homework, we know and want your family to be your priority. You will benefit from listening to the discussion even if you cannot complete the homework. We encourage those who have not been part of a Bible study before to join us!! God’s grace and love are unlimited in this group of women! These moms are known to laugh, pray, and care for each other during pregnancies, childbirth, first days of pre-school, elementary, and just everyday living with children. These moms cover a wide range of age. Questions or childcare reservations, please email Melinda Dodd.

HEBREWS
A Study for Men & Women

The message of Christ was (and is) meant for everyone.  The book of Hebrews is sometimes thought of as a challenging or difficult because some of its ideas aren't familiar to many of us.  But it is a powerful message of God's Son.  In the first chapter, Jesus is described as a "shining reflection of God's own glory".  Come study this message to God's church, which is just as relevant today as it was when written.  Rev. Mary Magnusson will lead the study which begins on January 25, and will meet on Wed. mornings at 10:30 a.m. in Room K104.  Dates of the study are as follows:

Jan. 25; Feb. 8, 22 & 29; March 14 & 28; and April 11

Wed. PM Bible Study

Wednesday night Bible Study is led by Rev. Matt Stone.  Series vary and are usually 6 - 8 weeks in length.  The time together is mostly discussion-based, and will always end with a focus on why the material we cover matters for our lives today. If you have any questions, please email Rev. Matt Stone.

Student Ministry Studies

Both senior and junior high students meet once a week to go a little deeper into God's word. This is a great place for those students who enjoy a more intimate, discussion-based setting than Sunday morning provides.

January 26 - March 8, 2012:  The Women in Jesus’ Life by Mindy Ferguson
Join us as we explore the lives of women Jesus encountered during His life and ministry. Jesus felt the pain of those who grieved; spoke to the unacceptable; healed the sick; extended grace to the sinner; made the crippled whole. You’ll walk in the sandals of women who experienced, first-hand, the compassionate and merciful nature of our Savior.

March 22 - May 10, 2012: Me, Myself and Lies: a Thought Closet Makeover by Jennifer Rothschild
“We all know at least one woman who seems to be clothed with peace and grace. She stands out in a crowd. She’s a woman who’s endured hardship but hasn’t become hard; has had her world shaken, but remains unshakable. Every wave of difficulty that has washed over her has polished and revealed in her that something special we all want. Such women are rare, but God placed just enough around to salt the earth with them and make the rest of us thirsty. You can be that woman!  She’s not superwoman in a skirt. She’s a woman like you and me who has learned a transcendent truth and she practices it daily. She’s learned to speak the truth to her soul, and it’s reflected in the wardrobe of her life.”
