Music Ministry
The Music Ministry at Kingwood UMC is a community of faith organized to aid in the proclamation of the Gospel through the art of music. Our programming is designed for individuals from pre-school through adults. Groups gather weekly to learn more about music and scripture and to share their Christian witness through their talents.
Throughout the year, the Music Ministry offers opportunities for participation as soloists, in ensembles, musicals, dramatic presentations, music education and voice classes, and other special programs. Brass, woodwind, and string ensembles and instrumental soloists also perform during special seasons of the church year such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.

We encourage all members of the congregation to share their musical talents. Also needed are adult helpers in the areas of accompanists, snack coordinator, carpooling and choir parents. For more information related to Music Ministry, please call Gary Showalter or Ben Tallcott in the Church Office at 281-358-2137, or email Gary at gary.showalter@kingwoodumc.org or Ben at ben.tallcott@kingwoodumc.org

Children's Choir
Children's choir meets on Sunday mornings at 9AM. We meet in the Fellowship Hall for registration. After you have signed your child in, you are free to: go have coffee, read your Sunday school lesson, fellowship with other parents, finish getting ready, check out the library, visit the prayer room, or whatever else works for you. We will take the children on to Sunday school for you and you may pick them up from there.

Children's choir is for children 4yrs old through 5th grade. This year we will be dividing up into 4 groups. Cherubs (4yr olds & pre-K), Joyful Noise (K's), Celebration (1st & 2nd), and Alleluia (3rd - 5th). There is a dynamic group of ladies in place to lead your children in singing God's praises. We will sing, move, clap, and play instruments as we worship God through music.

The children also play an important role in the ministry team. Can you think of a better way to start a worship service than by listening to His children singing His praise? I can't!!

Come be Joyful and join the Celebration as our Cherubs sing Alleluia to our Lord!

MAD Week
Each summer a special weeklong Music, Arts, and Drama (MAD) Week is offered to give children the opportunity to explore their musical gifts in a fun environment. The week usually culminates in teh presentation of a program that the children have been working on throughout the week.
