Weekday Activities

Women’s Bible Study | Leta Barksdale & Vicki Smith

Room # E200/201

Moses was an eyewitness to the glory of God. Despite his sometimes crippling sense of inadequacy, he was chosen to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Moses’ encounters with our Lord enabled him to continue despite his personal sense of unworthiness and the many obstacles and hardships he experienced along the way. “He persevered because he saw Him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27).

As you see God move on behalf of His people during the Exodus, you will gain a greater revelation of His matchless power and holy character. The same God who was concerned about His people’s suffering in Egypt and used Moses to deliver them from their oppression, is mindful of the matters that weigh heavily upon your heart. He is concerned about your suffering (Exodus 3:7), and in His way, and in His time, He will come to your rescue as well.

Through this study, you will follow Moses along his rough-and-tumble journey from his unlikely station as prince of Egypt to lonely fugitive and shepherd of his father-in-law’s flock. You will watch as the stammering, reluctant follower of God grows into one of the greatest leaders who ever lived. You will witness God’s active presence continually working on behalf of His people. Through Moses’ story, you will learn to discern God’s active presence continually working on your behalf as well. You, too, will become an eyewitness to His glory.

Invite your friends and neighbors to this exciting study which includes video teaching and small group study and discussion. We are very excited that Mindy will be giving the introduction on September 7th LIVE at KUMC.  Cost of the study is $15.

For information or registration, contact Leta Barksdale  at letabarks2702@gmail.com or Vicki Smith at vicki5502@gmail.com.

Young Mom’s Bible Study

Room # E201

This group welcomes any mom of newborns or any age child in school.  All children are different and all moms are different, but we can learn from each other’s experiences.  Encouragement, prayer, tears, laughter and help with meals are available to you!  Newborns are always welcome in our study until you and the nursery are ready for each other.  We will meet you wherever you are in your spiritual journey, even if this is your first study.

We will be studying THE ARMOR OF GOD by Priscilla Shirer, followed with a study on the movie, WAR ROOM

“All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you.  A cunning, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you – your emotions, your mind, your family, your future…The enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion.  A woman who is armed and dangerous.”

Classes will run from September 13th – December 13th in Rooms E-200/201. Fellowship and breakfast snacks begin at 9:00 when the nursery is open. Class begins at 9:30 with nursery pick up at 11:30. The book is $15 payable in class with cash or check to KUMC. Nursery is available with registration.

We encourage you to register by August 30th in order to give us time to secure enough childcare for your children, and to allow time to order enough books.  To register, please complete a Registration Card located at the Welcome Desk, or contact Melinda Dodd directly at 281-797-7334 or at melindad@kingwoodcable.net.

Combined Summer Bible Study

Taking Responsibility for Your Life …. because no one else will By Andy Stanley

Wednesdays July 12- August 9, 2017

Responsibilities. We all have them. But we don’t all take them as seriously as we ought to. Wouldn’t it be great, though, if we all took responsibility for the things we are responsible for? Wouldn’t it be great if you took responsibility for everything you’re responsible for? It’s time to stop the finger-pointing and excuse- making and to remove the “ir” in irresponsible.

In this five session DVD study, Andy Stanley, with his very engaging and thought provoking approach to this challenging and personal topic, highlights the great need for both men and women to take responsibility for their own lives.

The summer study is open to men and women of all ages.

Class will be from 9:30am-11:30am in E 200/201

Cost of the class (which includes the book) is $5

*Child care reservation for infants – completed 5th grade is available with registration (space available).

For childcare reservation, contact Melinda Dodd at melindad@kingwoodcable.net  or 281-797-7334

Weekdays for Men

Accepting His Promises

Room # E200-201

The primary program through which the men of KUMC get into small groups with other men is Accepting His Promise. Our AHP groups provide an opportunity for Christian men who want to grow stronger in their relationship with God to come together for weekly Bible study, prayer, and support. AHP Groups share in authentic life discussions and hold one another accountable so that together they may become better disciples. If you are interested in growing in Christ through vital relationships with other men, please visit the Men’s Calendar for more details about the various AHP groups meeting at KUMC, or email the Church Office to inquire about finding a group to join.
