About Local Missions

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Room # E207
  • An introductory class for students wanting to learn basic oral communications. Classes focus on practical, real life vocabulary to help students function in our English speaking environment.
  • Students and volunteer teachers are welcome. Can you spare two hours a week to help motivated adult students improve pronunciation?
  • Every class is led by a certified teacher, but many volunteers are needed.
  • We follow the basic Humble ISD calendar.

Layette Ministry

  • Over three hundred babies are born each month in the Harris Health System (HHS). HHS manages the county’s hospitals and health centers on a very limited budget.
  • All new mothers in the HHS system  are medically indigent with little material possessions for themselves or newborns.
  • The Layette Ministry assembles and distributes about 20 baby bags to HHS each month.
  • You can be a part of this ministry by providing new items for these baby bags. Contact Cathy Parva for more information
