We are called by God to offer up to Him prayers of adoration, thanksgiving, and petition.

Prayer Calendar

Each month our prayer ministry team creates a prayer calendar to help unite our congregation in prayer and focus our conversations with God in the same direction.

Quiet Places to Pray at KUMC

KUMC offers a prayer room (in the G building) and a prayer garden (on the south side of the courtyard) as places of quiet and peace for communion with our Lord and Savior. Julie Antrich coordinates our prayer ministries.

Altar Prayer Ministry

Altar Prayer Ministry is a group of trained servants who are available to pray with anyone who seeks prayer at the end of KUMC worship services. Many have come forward to participate in this ministry, so we are providing this Volunteer Sign-up Page for those who have been trained to sign up for the service that suits them best. Please log-in and type your name by the date that you choose to serve and you will receive a reminder email a few days before your Sunday.

If you are interested in joining this Ministry, please plan to attend a training class.  Email Paula Cade for more information.

Prayer Groups

Kingwood United Methodist Church has several individuals, prayer partner groups, and small groups who come together at the church and in homes to intercede on behalf of others.  The prayer partner groups consist of about 20 people who pray for six families in our community of faith every day for a week and call the families (when possible) to find out if there are any particular prayer needs at that time. Each year, each family in our congregation is prayed for for at least two weeks.  If you would like to become a part of one of these groups please email Paula Cade.
