Women's Ministry

Kingwood United Methodist Church has many opportunities available for women. The Women's Ministry is designed so that every woman at KUMC has a place to fellowship with other women, deepen their spirituality through Bible study or worship opportunities, sing and pray together, and discover their individual gifts. You are invited to join us in all of the activities at KUMC.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. --Romans 15:5-6

Women's Ministries Circles

The three Women’s Ministries Circles (Agape, Faith and Hope) provide small group environments for women of all ages to build close relationships, engage in Christian learning and outreach, and support each other as well as other ministries and community efforts. Bible study, discussions, prayer and sharing are central to the Circle groups. Programs and speakers vary within each Circle.

All women of the church and community are welcomed in the Circles. If you would like a read on which Circle(s) might best fit your personality, needs and interests, please call Kathy Carroll, Dir. of Women’s Ministries, at 281-359-1869.

The Circles meet once a month during the last week of each month (September-May), in one of the Circle member’s homes. The Agape Circle meets on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm. The Faith and Hope Circles both meet on Tuesday mornings at 9:30.

Detailed Circle meeting information is posted each month in Forest Reflections. For more information about each Circle, please call:

  • Agape Circle: Sharon Marks, 281-570-4819, and Joan Turner
  • Faith Circle: Kathy Carroll, 281-359-1869

Young Mom's Study

Meets on Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall in the Koinonia Building for breakfast snacks at 9:00 a.m. and class from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. We have excellent nursery staff that provides childcare with a reservation.

We will meet you where you are in your faith and study time. Although we encourage you to try to work in the homework, we know and want your family to be your priority. You will benefit from listening to the discussion even if you cannot complete the homework. We encourage those who have not been part of a Bible study before to join us!! God’s grace and love are unlimited in this group of women! These moms are known to laugh, pray, and care for each other during pregnancies, childbirth, first days of pre-school, elementary, and just everyday living with children. These moms cover a wide range of age. Questions or childcare reservations, please email Melinda Dodd.

March 22 - May 10, 2012: Me, Myself and Lies: a Thought Closet Makeover by Jennifer Rothschild
“We all know at least one woman who seems to be clothed with peace and grace. She stands out in a crowd. She’s a woman who’s endured hardship but hasn’t become hard; has had her world shaken, but remains unshakable. Every wave of difficulty that has washed over her has polished and revealed in her that something special we all want. Such women are rare, but God placed just enough around to salt the earth with them and make the rest of us thirsty. You can be that woman!  She’s not superwoman in a skirt. She’s a woman like you and me who has learned a transcendent truth and she practices it daily. She’s learned to speak the truth to her soul, and it’s reflected in the wardrobe of her life.”

Ladies Night Out - March 29!

DARE TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!

KUMC Women's Ministry invites you to attend this very special Ladies Night Out to hear how God gripped the heart of one local woman to help in the battle against sex trafficking. Houston is considered a major hub for the buying and selling of people, and the I-10 corridor has been designated by the FBI as the #1 corridor for human trafficking.

Click here to register to attend this program and dare to ask God what He is inviting YOU to do to be part of the solution! Event DetailsThere is no cost for this event on March 29; 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall; childcare available at KUMC with reservations.
