8:30, 9:40, and 11:00 am Services in the Sanctuary
Most of the worship experiences at Kingwood United Methodist Church take place in the setting of our beautiful Sanctuary. These services offer the congregation an opportunity to gather for meaningful worship in an atmosphere which balances a traditional style with informal elements. The music and hymns for these services comes from across the worship spectrum - including great praise hymns of the Christian Church, the gospel and spiritual tradition, and more contemporary music. Formal attire is not required at Kingwood UMC. You will see some people in suits, while others come in bluejeans!
Special music is a regular feature of our Sanctuary services. Our adult Chancel Choir sings most Sundays at the 9:40 and 11:00 a.m. hours. The youth choirs, Men's Ensemble, and Women's Ensemble sing frequently in different services. Kingwood UMC's handbell groups often present music, as do soloists and instrumentalists. You will find that special music is a wonderful enriching element in worship from week to week in our church.
The Rev. Joe Fort, our Senior Minister, is the primary preacher at the services in the Sanctuary. Rev. Fort always bases his preaching in scripture, connecting the Word of God with day-to-day Christian living.
On the first Sunday of each month our church celebrates the Lord's Supper, or Holy Communion, in worship. This is the time when the church family, the Body of Christ, remembers with thanksgiving the forgiveness which our Lord Jesus Christ offers for our sins through his cross.
