Confirmation Classes
Confirmation is a process in the United Methodist Church through which youth are taken through an in-depth time of laying claim to their faith in God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. At KUMC, Confirmation classes are held on Sunday mornings in the fall during the Sunday School hour and all sixth grade students or older who have not yet been a part of confirmation are encouraged to attend. At KUMC we view confirmation as a wonderful time of equipping young persons to be participants in the Body of Christ. It is therefore an experience of training which is linked to their acceptance as full members in the local congregation.

Our current confirmation model involves both the youth and their parents in an eight week exploration of the fundamental claims of the Christian faith. Each weekly gathering involves a lesson taught by one of our staff members followed by a time of sharing and growth in small groups. In the middle of the program there is an overnight retreat component and a service project to come alongside the church in one of its ministry opportunities.
